Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (R) is the educational wing of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math, a centuries-old centre of spirituality and social welfare. Inspired by the vision of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji and carried forward by the seers of the Math, the Trust has grown into one of the largest educational networks in the state.
From schools and pre-university colleges to engineering, medical, dental, nursing, pharmacy and management institutions, it serves thousands of students across Karnataka — uniting value-based learning with academic and professional excellence under the timeless ideal of || jai sri gurudev ||. The Visionary Who Began It All

Education is the greatest gift one can offer society — a lamp that, once lit, dispels the darkness of generations.
Our institutions owe their very existence to the vision of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, the 71st pontiff of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math. A seer of rare foresight, his holiness believed that true upliftment begins with access to knowledge — especially for the rural and the underprivileged.
Born Gangadharaiah on 18 January 1945 near Bidadi, his holiness was drawn to a life of spiritual service from an early age and spent his formative years immersed in the study of the Vedas and sacred scriptures.
Guided by the principle of Anna, Akshara, Arogya — Food, Education, and Health — Swamiji shaped the Math's mission around the everyday needs of ordinary people rather than ritual alone. In 1973, his holiness founded the Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (R.), planting the seed of what would grow into one of Karnataka's largest educational movements — schools, pre-university and degree colleges, and institutions of engineering, medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy and management. BGSCET and its MBA programme stand as proud heirs to that enduring legacy.
Beyond education, his humanitarian vision extended to healthcare, orphan care, and environmental conservation — initiatives that earned him the Parisara Ratna award and, in 2010, the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honour. Even after his passing in 2013, his teachings continue to guide the institutions he built.

Education is the noblest form of service — it awakens the mind, strengthens character and uplifts society.
Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Mahaswamiji is the 72nd pontiff of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math. Born Nagaraj in a small farming family in Cheranahalli, Gubbi Taluk, Tumkur district, his holiness rose from humble rural beginnings to earn a BE in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, and an M.Tech in Structural Engineering from IIT Madras, where he was awarded the Gold Medal. Rather than pursue his selected scientist's role at the Central Water and Power Research Station, Pune, his holiness chose to volunteer as a teacher at a blind school in Ramanagar — an early sign of the path he would ultimately take.
In 1998, his holiness renounced worldly life and was initiated into Sanyasa under the guidance of Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, who later entrusted him with heading the Math's branch institution at Chikkaballapur. Recognizing his selflessness and dedication, Sri Guruji named him his rightful successor, and he assumed the pontifical seat in 2013.
As Chancellor of Adichunchanagiri University and President of the Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (R.), Mahaswamiji today guides a network of over 500 educational institutions serving more than 2,00,000 students. He continues to walk the path of Jnana and Karma laid down by his Guru, while drawing deeply on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa to advance holistic development through education, healthcare, and rural upliftment — carrying the Math's century-old mission of service into a new era.

Dr. Naveen is the Founding Director of BGS School of Management. He is an economist and institution builder dedicated to addressing educational inequality in India.
Previously, he spent one year at the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) South Asia and two years at the University of California, San Diego as a postdoctoral scholar. His research focuses on the design, implementation, and impact of education reforms.
Dr. Naveen earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Master's degree in Management from the London School of Economics. He completed his undergraduate degree in Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University.
